News

A big welcome back to everyone and especially our new children. We have many things already planned and it hardly seems we’ve been away. Please check the rest of newsletter below and the diary dates overleaf.We also welcome Miss Morton as Junior teacher who will also share the role of Senior Teacher with Mrs.  Reeve. This half term Mrs Reeve will manage the school when Mr. Lacey-Hastings is not in.
Mrs. Dennis has been appointed as our secretary whilst Mrs. Edwards is off (until half term).
Please do not hesitate to see us with any concerns and thank you again for your continuing support.

This year we also want to do the Christmas Shoe Box appeal for Romania and the MacMillan Coffee Morning. We await the packs and will give information out as we get it.

Clubs

Music Club starts again on Thursday 15th September with Annie Graham who very kindly gives her time free of charge. If anyone wants music lessons then please see the office (we will also send a letter out).
We also hope to start Let’s Get Cooking again on Tuesday 20th October and Miss Hines will send out a list of children (this club is done on a rotation basis). Mrs Reeve will run a gardening club.
We also want to run a tennis club (at a lunchtime) and have also had another flyer/letter about drama club. There should be plenty available to do and where possible we try to reduce the costs to parents.

Reminders

Please try to remember to send children into school with all the right clothing and equipment such as uniform, PE Kit, reading bags etc. Also please try to support your child with their homework and remind that it needs doing. If you are not sure about the homework please come and see the class teacher.

Swimming

Juniors start swimming on Monday 19th September for six weeks. Please send your child in with a costume, towel and swimming hat. If you wish to buy a swimming hat please ask at the office. We will send a letter out shortly.

Contacts

Please keep us up to date with any new telephone numbers and mobiles. This can be very important as having an old number could be a serious problem if a parent were needed at short notice.
We also ask that we have e-mail addresses as this is also a good way of letting most parents know what’s happening. Thank you.

Monday 19th September – swimming starts for Juniors for six weeks (pool out of action 12th September)
Thursday 15th September – music club starts and music lessons
Saturday 17th September – Harvest celebration (Four churches) at Scole Primary School
Tuesday 20th September – Let’s Get Cooking starts
Thursday 22nd September – Infants Trip to Dinosaur Park
Friday 23rd September – Harvest festival at church 2.45 p.m.
Wednesday 28th September – Day of European Languages
Friday 30th September -  Macmillan Coffee Morning at school- more details to follow
Friday 21st October – last day of half term
Monday 31st October  - children return
Friday 11th November – Remembrance Day assembly (parents welcome)
Friday 18th November- Children in Need Day
Sunday 13th November - Remembrance Sunday- we hope some children will attend church and lay a wreath
Wednesday 7th December- A Christmas Carol – theatre visit to the school
Friday 9th December 2.45 p.m. – Carol Concert at the church
Monday 121th December 6.30 p.m. children arrive for 7.00 p.m. start– School Christmas Concert at Village Hall
